The Hologic InSight 2 is a full-field digital mammography (FFDM) system that remains in active clinical use at numerous facilities across the United States. While it predates the Dimensions platform's 3D tomosynthesis capability, the InSight 2 continues to deliver diagnostic-quality 2D digital mammograms when properly maintained with genuine OEM components.

The system uses a direct-capture digital detector — a significant advancement over the computed radiography (CR) cassettes it replaced — providing immediate image availability and consistent image quality. The InSight 2 architecture includes dedicated imaging monitors that meet DICOM grayscale display standards, a compact keyboard interface, and a system cabinet housing the X-ray generator and computing hardware.

As a legacy Hologic platform, InSight 2 parts can be increasingly difficult to source. MammoService maintains dedicated inventory for the InSight 2 including covers, monitors, keyboards, C-arm components, and system cabinet parts. For facilities extending the service life of their InSight 2 systems, access to genuine OEM parts and experienced engineers is critical to maintaining image quality and MQSA compliance.
