The FMI Kit Compression Device Gearmotor Assembly provides the motorized compression mechanism that controls paddle movement and compression force in the Dimensions system. This is the current-production replacement for earlier compression drive assemblies, including the legacy compression motor brake assembly. Symptoms include sluggish or uneven paddle movement, compression force inaccuracy, motor noise or vibration, and compression brake failure allowing the paddle to drift. Typical replacement every 3–5 years in high-volume facilities due to the high mechanical duty cycle of daily compression operations. Requires a qualified field service engineer. Replacement involves mechanical disassembly of the compression device housing and recalibration of compression force and position sensors.
